This specially created performance is fully-staged, and performed by a narrator, The Orchestra of Scottish Opera, and a wonderful cast of singers. Audiences are lead through the story, and hear some of the best-loved music from the opera. Lighting levels in the auditorium are brighter, and people are able to come in and out of the auditorium during the performance and see the show in the bar on TV screens.

Passionate, flamboyant, gripping; Sir David McVicar’s La traviata is not to be missed. Set in the demi-monde of 1880s Paris, this stunning show is designed with sumptuous period style and gets right to the core of Violetta and Alfredo’s doomed love affair – finding a heartbreakingly human story in the midst of a hedonistic world where both the rich and the wretched have their fun. Verdi’s magnificent score sweeps the characters through their every shifting mood, brought to life by Russian-Dutch soprano Gulnara Shafigullina and Dutch tenor Peter Gijsbertsen.
