A VERY SPECIAL GIFT
HELP SHAPE OUR FUTURE BY PLEDGING A LEGACY
Do you remember your first visit to the theatre? Do you have happy memories of time spent at shows with friends and family? Have you been inspired by what you’ve seen on stage? You can help future generations to share your love of theatre with a Gift in your Will.
One of the most precious gifts you can ever give is a legacy. If you have fond memories of performances at the Festival and King’s Theatres we would be honoured to be remembered in your Will. Pledging a legacy is a very special way in which you can be part of the theatres’ future at no cost to you during your lifetime.
WHERE TO START
Leaving a gift in your Will can be a surprisingly straight forward process, but we do recommend that you consult a solicitor who will be able to discuss your plans in relation to your personal circumstances. For an informal chat about leaving a gift in your Will or to request a short easy-to-follow guide about what to consider when making a Will, please email
firstname.lastname@example.org or phone 0131 622 8087.
“Everyone should have a Will. That’s how you provide for family and friends. But you can do a lot by leaving a legacy to a “Love the arts, Leave to the arts” charity. Why not use your Will to help the vibrant cultural life that makes Scotland such a fine place to live. A legacy to the arts is a small gesture that makes a very big difference. ” Alexander McCall Smith, Author and Art Lover
LET US SHOW OUR GRATITUDE
If you do decide to pledge a gift to the Festival and King’s Theatres, or if you have made a pledge already, we’d love to hear from you. Not only does it help us enormously with our planning, but means that we can show our gratitude to you during your lifetime. We fully understand that this is only a statement of your current intentions and is in no way binding. By pledging a legacy we want to make you part of the theatres’ present as well as their future.
As a charity we rely on our supporters to safeguard these two historic theatres. Arts organisations are very often forgotten when people come to making a Will, but now more than ever theatres need the support of those who value the arts to survive and flourish. Your support would help us to:
Ø INSPIRE: Bringing the very best national and international companies to Edinburgh
Ø ACCOMMODATE: Making theatre accessible to all by programming more accessible performances than any other theatre in Scotland.
Ø PRESERVE: Safeguarding these two iconic theatres for future generations
Ø ENGAGE: Encouraging people of all ages to participate in the arts through an extensive programme of outreach initiatives, workshops, courses, tours and courses.
Ø DEVELOP: Continuing to improve our facilities with projects such as the creation of a new studio space at the Festival Theatre.
Ø NURTURE: supporting the next generation of arts workers, performers and creators by hosting a range of youth initiatives and supporting performances on our stages by schools and colleges.
